LOS ANGELES — Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced today that they will participate in a veterans hiring fair and service project at Sony Pictures Studios.  The premier hiring fair for veterans, Hiring our Heroes Los Angeles will be co-hosted by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Culver City on July 10, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The biggest of the more than 100 hiring fairs set to take place across the country, Hiring our Heroes Los Angeles will allow 1,500 veterans to connect with 200 area employers.

“With more than 100,000 veterans seeking jobs in California alone, this event is extremely important.  We are pleased that the Los Angeles business community has stepped up to support nation’s heroes, and we’re thrilled that Their Royal Highnesses can take part in this event,” said L.A. Area Chamber President & CEO Gary Toebben. “This will be a day to remember, not only for the businesses who participate, but also the veterans who find jobs.”

The L.A. Area Chamber has worked closely with the Department of Labor Veterans Employment and Training and Service, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, The United Way of Greater Los Angeles County and Military Spouse Employment Partnership to ensure this is a premier event for the employers and veterans and military spouses expected to attend.  The event will be part of a larger event being organized by ServiceNation: Mission Serve to bring together military and civilian communities. Other activities will include a service project that will benefit the children of deployed service members.

Companies interested in participating should visit http://www.regonline.com/Register/Checkin.aspx?EventID=971904.  Media who are interested in on-site coverage of this event can email servicenation@sunshinesachs.com.  A confirmation email will be sent if space is available to accommodate the news organization.
