LOS ANGELES, CA — Today, the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce announced Nancy Olson as its new vice president of leadership programs and executive director of the Southern California Leadership Network (SCLN).

As executive director, Olson will lead the staff of the SCLN, as well as the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the 26-year-old organization. Her responsibilities will include organizational management, fundraising and community relations. In addition, she will lead the Chamber’s leadership programs and serve as member of its senior staff team.

Olson formerly served as executive director of Volunteer Los Angeles, where she was responsible for strategic planning, volunteer programming, administration and developing business partnerships. Prior to her work there, Olson was a director at CaliforniaVolunteers within the Governor’s office. In addition to these positions, Olson served as campaign director at two United Ways, was an account executive Masterworks Associates and spent eight years working in Haiti with organizations including the United States Agency for International Development.

"I am thrilled to be joining the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and the Southern California Leadership Network team.  It is a natural extension of my career-long passion for building individuals' leadership and connection to our community.  Los Angeles needs engaged, informed leaders - SCLN provides a dynamic, rich, accessible experience for professionals at any stage to enhance their connection to community issues and network with like-minded professionals. It is truly a privilege to be part of this incredible organization,” said Olson.
