LOS ANGELES, CA — Today, the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce announced Nancy Olson as its new vice president of leadership programs and executive director of the Southern California Leadership Network (SCLN).
As executive director, Olson will lead the staff of the SCLN, as well as the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the 26-year-old organization. Her responsibilities will include organizational management, fundraising and community relations. In addition, she will lead the Chamber’s leadership programs and serve as member of its senior staff team.
“Given her tremendous experience in non-profit leadership, coupled with her passion for building community engagement, Nancy is the ideal candidate to lead SCLN and the Chamber’s leadership programs,” said L.A. Area Chamber President & CEO Gary Toebben.
Olson formerly served as executive director of Volunteer Los Angeles, where she was responsible for strategic planning, volunteer programming, administration and developing business partnerships. Prior to her work there, Olson was a director at CaliforniaVolunteers within the Governor’s office. In addition to these positions, Olson served as campaign director at two United Ways, was an account executive Masterworks Associates and spent eight years working in Haiti with organizations including the United States Agency for International Development.

A graduate of SCLN’s Leadership L.A. program, Olson received her Bachelor of Arts in international studies from George Fox University, as well as a certificate in corporate social responsibility from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business.
