LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce announced today that Anthony Pirozzi, Director of Systems Launch Integration, Test and Launch for The Boeing Company; and Alan McCorkle, Vice President of West Coast Operations at NYK Ports, will lead the 2016 World Trade Week (WTW) efforts, which include more than 30 events, briefings and activities to enhance awareness about the economic benefits that global trade brings to the Los Angeles region. WTW supports college and high school scholarships and student workshops, as well as briefings for civic and business leaders to continue supporting fair and free trade.
“We know that with Anthony serving as chair and Alan serving as vice chair, World Trade Week will benefit greatly from their extensive knowledge and experience in global trade and its impact on the regional economy,” said L.A. Area Chamber Senior Vice President Carlos Valderrama.
Pirozzi and McCorkle will oversee World Trade Week’s jumpstart during the Chamber's annual Kickoff Breakfast with more than 600 guests on May 3, 2016 at the JW Marriott at LA LIVE.
For 90 years, WTW under the leadership and sponsorship of its founding members the L.A Area Chamber, Los Angeles World Airports, and the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles – the original week-long observance has now grown to more than 30 events held each year throughout the month of May in the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura.

Anthony Pirozzi is the Director of Systems Integration, Test & Launch for The Boeing Company - responsible for day-to-day operations of all satellite production during the final integration and test phases at the Satellite Development Center in El Segundo.
Prirozzi was appointed to the Los Angeles Harbor Commission by Los Angeles by Mayor, Eric Garcetti in October 2013. Prior to this appointment he served two terms as the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board of Directors. He is focused on driving transformational change along the L.A. Waterfront; specifically a marine research and technology center at AltaSea; redeveloping Port’s O’ Call into an international waterfront destination: and ensuring the Port of Los Angeles remains the nations No. 1 container port.
About Alan McCorkle:
Alan McCorkle was named Vice President of West Coast Operations for NYK Ports in November 2014. In this capacity, Alan is responsible for container terminal operations at Yusen Terminals Inc. in Southern California, Ceres RoRo operations in Port Hueneme,
California and Vancouver, Canada in addition to Ceres cruise ship terminal operations in Vancouver.
Prior to joining NYK ports, Alan was with the A.P. Moller–Maersk Group for 25 years holding a number of positions of increasing responsibility including leading the development of the Pier 400 terminal in Los Angeles becoming its Managing Director when the facility opened in 2002 and General Manager, APM Terminals (Jamaica) Ltd. in 2004, where he managed all port operations in Jamaica before returning to Southern California becoming Vice President of West Coast Operations in 2005.
