LOS ANGELES, CA — Today, in response to Congress officially backing Los Angeles’ bid for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games, the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following statement:
“We are excited to see Congress’ support of the LA2024 bid. As a two-time host city, and with the majority of venues already in existence and billions of dollars in transportation and airport projects already underway, L.A. is a top contender. Now, with Congress’ support, we strongly believe that we can bring the Summer Games back to the U.S. for the first time in 28 years,” said Gary Toebben, President & CEO of the L.A. Area Chamber.
The Chamber has been a vocal advocate of Los Angeles’ bid for the 2024 Olympic Games, and made seeking Federal support a top priority of its annual advocacy trip to Washington, D.C. this spring.
The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce represents the interests of business in L.A. County. Founded in 1888, the Chamber promotes a prosperous economy and quality of life in the Los Angeles region. For more information, visit www.lachamber.com.
