L.A. Area Chamber announces leaders from Alba Wheels Up and FedEx will steer 93rd Annual World Trade Week

LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce announced today that Vincent lacopella, executive vice president, growth and strategy, Alba Wheels Up and Wayne Wagner, senior manager, Brokerage Services, FedEx Logistics will lead this year’s World Trade Week efforts as chair and vice chair, respectively.

For 93 years, World Trade Week, an initiative of the L.A. Area Chamber, has been the most extensive and unique program of its kind in the country, actively promoting the positive aspects of international trade that are vital to a strong local and national economy. The original week-long observance has grown to more than 30 events, briefings and activities held each year throughout the month of May in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura counties.

lacopella and Wagner will oversee World Trade Week’s 2019 launch during the Chamber’s annual Kickoff Breakfast with more than 900 guests on Thursday, May 2 at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown. World Trade Week supports college and high school scholarships, high school student workshops, as well as briefings for civic and business leaders interested in benefiting from the global economy.


About Vincent lacopella:

At Alba, Vincent Iacopella’s responsibilities include leading the company's expansion into new markets and increasing the portfolio of product offerings with a focus on trade sensitive imports and exports, as well as smart supply chain technology that drives value to importers and exporters with trade sensitive shipments. A licensed customs broker, Iacopella has worked in the Los Angeles market for 30 years, managing importer and exporter customer relationships in the sectors of retail goods, apparel, footwear, and trade sensitive products and commodities. In March 2013, he was appointed to the 13th Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of Customs and Border Protection (COAC) and in 2015 he was Trade Co Chair, with responsibilities over all COAC activities and its 20 member committee’s dialogue with Customs and Border Protection, Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Treasury. Iacopella is a former president of the Los Angeles Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association, current president of the Pacific Coast Council of Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders and L.A. Vice Chair for the District Export Council of Southern California.


About Wayne Wagner:

Wayne Wagner is currently the Senior Manager for Brokerage Services at FedEx Logistics, a wholly owned subsidiary of FedEx Corporation. He was formerly the General Manager of the Southwest Region for FedEx Logistics. His current responsibilities include the management of the U.S. Customs Brokerage Services. Wayne was formerly with Tower Group International and has 35 years of experience in the Customs Brokerage-Logistics industry. He is a licensed Customs Broker and a Certified Customs Specialist. He is the former President and current Chairman of the Los Angeles Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association. He is also on the board of the National Custom Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association. Wayne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Whittier College located in Whittier, California.
