The Chamber’s vision of creating A THRIVING REGION FOR ALL which impacts the entire L.A. region is kicked-off at tonight's event.
LOS ANGELES (January 30, 2020) — The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce hosts its 132nd annual Inaugural Dinner highlighting its vision of creating “A Thriving Region for All.” The Chamber’s premier event is sold out and will be held at the J.W. Marriott at LA LIVE. The event marks the launch of a new strategic plan to champion economic growth, amplify Los Angeles’ position as a global center and enhance opportunities for our entire community.
Local and statewide political leaders, business thought leaders and philanthropists will be in attendance. The event is a dynamic, fun-filled evening convening more than 1,500 of the region’s brightest business and civic leaders.
“This annual dinner is an opportunity to bring together the most influential leaders in government and business to celebrate past accomplishments and focus on the agenda and critical work in the coming year,” said Maria S. Salinas, President & CEO of the L.A. Area Chamber. “It’s also an opportunity to recognize those companies and individuals that have contributed to significantly improving the business climate and quality of life for area residents.”
The Inaugural Dinner also marks the installation of the incoming 2020 Board Chair for the Chamber, Denita Willoughby, Vice President of Supply Management & Support Services for Southern California Gas Company, and in the spirit of community, the event also recognizes extraordinary leadership with the Civic Medal of Honor, Distinguished Business Leader and Corporate Leadership awards.
The Corporate Leadership Award this year will be presented to Citi during the Chamber’s Inaugural Dinner. The evening will also feature the presentation of the Civic Medal of Honor to Frank E. Baxter, Chairman Emeritus of Jefferies LLC, and the Distinguished Business Leader Award to Evan Spiegel, the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Snap Inc.
