L.A. JOBS PAC MAKES EARLY ENDORSEMENT OF THREE LOS ANGELES COUNCILMEMBERS FOR RE-ELECTION

As the Chamber seeks to ensure an equitable economic recovery, making certain that businesses large and small can re-open, resume full operations, and rehire workers is of the utmost importance. Policy makers who have an understanding of the challenges and opportunities within our economy as well as an openness to the exchange of ideas, is crucial. The L.A. Jobs PAC, in early action, endorsed Councilmembers Monica Rodriguez, Gilbert “Gil” Cedillo, and Mitch O’Farrell for their respective re-election bids in 2022. The L.A. Jobs PAC supports candidates that foster a policy agenda for economic growth and job creation in Los Angeles.

“Having elected leaders who understand private enterprise and who are willing to face the hard problems confronting our city is vital in ensuring a thriving economy for all,” said Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Maria S. Salinas.

“Councilmembers Monica Rodriguez, Gil Cedillo, and Mitch O’Farrell have each demonstrated leadership and a willingness to stand up for policies which will benefit our city as we combat the coronavirus, work to restore economic growth, and expand opportunities for all Angelenos,” she added.

Los Angeles City Councilmember Monica Rodriguez represents the Seventh District, which includes the neighborhoods of Pacoima, Sunland-Tujunga, Sylmar, Shadow Hills, Sun Valley, Lake View Terrace, and Mission Hills. Councilmembers Rodriguez was first elected to the L.A. City Council in 2017 and is seeking a second term.

Los Angeles City Councilmember Gilbert “Gil” Cedillo represents the First District, which includes all or part of the 22 neighborhoods of Northeast and Northwest Los Angeles - from Highland Park to Pico Union and Koreatown to MacArthur Park. Councilmember Cedillo was first elected to the L.A. City Council in 2013 and is seeking a third and final term.

Los Angeles City Councilmember Mitch O'Farrell represents the Thirteenth District, which covers the neighborhoods of Hollywood, Silver Lake, Echo Park, and Westlake. Councilmember O’Farrell was first elected to the L.A. City Council in 2013 and is seeking a third and final term.
