LOS ANGELES, CA - February 7, 2022 - In response to the passage of AB 84 and SB 114 through both the California State Assembly and Senate respectively, Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Maria S. Salinas, released the following statement:
“While businesses still struggle to recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 public health crisis, it is impossible to ignore the loss of life that continues to spread across Los Angeles and the state and the subsequent need for action. The state legislature’s proposal on COVID-19 paid sick leave represents efforts to balance the needs of workers and their employers as business large and small look to emerge from the pandemic. Through collaboration between government and the business community, we can find solutions that have a meaningful impact for employees and employers alike. We will continue to work with our policymakers to ensure that the business community is heard in the implementation of critical legislation.”
