L.A. AREA CHAMBER CALLS ON CITY COUNCILMEMBERS TO RESIGN

LOS ANGELES, CA – October 11, 2022 –  The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce has released a statement today calling for the resignation of City Councilmembers.

"Today, we heard from the citizens of our community and witnessed the wounds which have been inflicted and exposed. It is now apparent, we can only heal and move forward through definitive action. Councilmembers Nury Martinez, Kevin de León, and Gil Cedillo must resign immediately. They lost their credibility and have undermined their legitimacy to govern. It is a sad moment for all Angelenos. We join with business and civic leaders in calling for their immediate resignation from the Los Angeles City Council.

Racist, anti-Black, anti-LGBTQ and anti-indigenous remarks cannot be left unchecked.  There is no place for these inflammatory remarks in public or private discourse. We must all unite and speak up against it."
