LOS ANGELES (Dec. 13, 2022) – The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce has been awarded a five-star accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the highest level of accreditation available. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s accreditation program is the only one of its kind which defines excellence in chamber performance and planning. There are roughly 7,000 chambers of commerce throughout the country, but only 201 chambers nationwide and seven in California carry this prestigious honor.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, for our steadfast commitment to the Los Angeles region. We strive to be bold, transformative, inclusive and responsible in our work to grow an economy that works for all.” said Maria S. Salinas, President and CEO of the L.A. By earning this honor, the L.A. Area Chamber has demonstrated strong business practices, outstanding contributions to the community, and a promotion of policies that support job creation, innovation, and entrepreneurship throughout the region.
“Chambers of commerce who achieve an accreditation designation are truly leaders in their industry,” said Raymond P. Towle, U.S. Chamber Vice President, Federation Relations and IOM. “This rigorous review includes all aspects of a chamber’s policies, operations, and programming. When chambers of commerce earn the distinction of becoming accredited, it is a mark of excellence for the organization, its staff, and its leadership. Accredited chambers are recognized for their ability to serve as a resource to their region’s businesses while maintaining transparent governance practices, sound financial controls, safe work environments, effective communications, and value in programming. They are commended for their continued advocacy of free enterprise, and for their commitment to serving members and their local businesses. Congratulations to the L.A. Area Chamber on this tremendous accomplishment.”
The U.S. Chamber recognized the L.A. Area Chamber’s work in key areas:
- Public policy and civic engagement
