LOS ANGELES (June 29, 2023) — Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Maria S. Salinas, issued the following statement regarding the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority point-in-time homelessness count for both the city and the county:
“The increase in homelessness is disappointing, 9% in Los Angeles County and 10% in the city of Los Angeles. These numbers reflect the complexity of addressing homelessness. We must approach solutions with a sense of urgency and sound policies. We all have a role to play, both public and private sectors need to work hand-in-hand to change the tide of this humanitarian crisis.”
