L.A. Area Chamber Responds to Governor's Veto of SB 799


LOS ANGELES (Oct. 2, 2023) — The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following statement after California Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed Senate Bill 799:

“Governor Newsom responded with responsible legislative action by vetoing Senate Bill 799. This legislation could have had devasting impacts on the already burdened Unemployment Insurance Fund and significantly increased costs for all employers,” stated Maria S. Salinas, President and CEO of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce.
