L.A. Area Chamber Applauds City Council Confirmation of New LADWP CEO and Chief Engineer, Janisse Quiñones


LOS ANGELES, CA - May 15, 2024 – The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce released the following statement regarding the confirmation of Janisse Quiñones to serve as the new Chief Executive Officer and Chief Engineer of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP).

 "We applaud Mayor Karen Bass and the Los Angeles City Council for appointing Janisse Quiñones as CEO and Chief Engineer of the LADWP. With more than 25 years of leadership experience as a senior executive in the utility and engineering industries, Quiñones is well-equipped to lead LADWP in achieving crucial goals, such as providing 100 percent clean energy by 2035.

For more than 120 years, LADWP has provided the city with reliable water and power service in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner. With Quiñones at the helm, we look forward to the department's continued progress toward ensuring a sustainable water future by diversifying and expanding local water resources and supporting strategies and policies to ensure all communities, particularly the most vulnerable, have access to affordable utilities," stated Maria S.
