LOS ANGELES, CA - May 30, 2024 –The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce released the following statement regarding the Los Angeles City Council's confirmation of President Pro Tem Marqueece Harris-Dawson as the next council president.
“The L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to extend its congratulations to Council President-elect Marqueece Harris-Dawson on his election as the next President of the Los Angeles City Council. Since taking office in 2015, Councilman Harris-Dawson, serving the 8th District and the communities of South Los Angeles, has championed policies aimed at addressing homelessness, fostering job growth, and promoting community policing initiatives.
The Chamber looks forward to collaborating with Council President Harris-Dawson to advance policies that strengthen our vibrant business community and effectively address pressing challenges.
