L.A. Area Chamber Applauds Agreement to Reform Private Attorneys General Act for a Better System for Workers and Employers


LOS ANGELES, CA - June 20, 2024 – The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following statement regarding the announced agreement reached to reform the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA):

"The Chamber applauds the agreement on PAGA reform between the Fix PAGA coalition, Governor Gavin Newsom, Senate President pro Tempore Mike McGuire, and Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas. The legislative proposal provides meaningful protection for workers while incentivizing and reducing frivolous lawsuits. We urge the Legislature to swiftly pass this package," stated Maria S. Salinas, President and CEO of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce.
