Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Issues Statement on State Supreme Court’s Prop. 22 Ruling


LOS ANGELES, CA – JULY 26, 2024 – The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following statement regarding the California Supreme Court ruling to uphold Proposition 22.

“The Chamber is pleased that the matter is resolved and businesses, workers, and consumers can continue to reap the widespread benefits of the gig economy,” stated Maria S. Salinas, President & CEO, Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. “Prop. 22 allows app-based rideshare and food delivery drivers to work as independent contractors with access to guaranteed earnings and new benefits.”
