LOS ANGELES (April 7, 2026) – THE LOS ANGELES AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TODAY ANNOUNCED ITS ENDORSEMENT OF MAYOR KAREN BASS FOR RE-ELECTION. PRESIDENT & CEO MARIA S. SALINAS ISSUED THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT:
“The stakes in this election are real, and the urgency is real – for our economy, our communities, and our future. As the second-largest economy in the United States, Los Angeles demands leadership that matches its scale. This is a critical moment, and it requires someone with the experience and steadiness to meet it.
Mayor Karen Bass has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing job growth, supporting businesses and workers, and addressing the challenges that impact our economic competitiveness, that matter most to Angelenos – from housing affordability to public safety. This is not the moment to start over. While there is still so much work to do, the progress this city has made is real – and it deserves to be protected. Let’s be clear: The work isn't done – and neither is she. She understands that when government and business work together, it yields positive results.
At the L.A. Area Chamber, our focus is to ensure that local businesses are informed, prepared, and well positioned to compete for opportunities - because when businesses succeed, communities succeed.
The Los Angeles business community is united behind her re-election. We need Mayor Bass to remain mayor to protect the economic progress this city has made and to see through the work that still lies ahead. We look forward to continuing our partnership to keep Los Angeles a place of opportunity, innovation, and inclusive growth.”
