L.A. Area Chamber Statement on the Election of Xavier Becerra as California’s Next Governor

LOS ANGELES – Chamber President & CEO Maria S. Salinas issued the following statement after the election results for the governor's race:
"On behalf of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, I congratulate Governor-Elect Xavier Becerra on his victory. We are pleased to see a leader who knows Los Angeles so well elected to lead our state. He represented Los Angeles in Congress for more than two decades before going on to serve as California Attorney General and U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Meeting the challenges ahead will take government and business working together. Californians face pressing challenges, from the cost of living and housing to wildfire recovery and preparation for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. At the same time, we need to make sure California is a place people can afford and where businesses can grow, create jobs and invest.
We look forward to working with him and his administration on these issues and on building an economy that works for all Californians."
