Board Brief
Greetings from Washington D.C., Carlos and I are joining the Mobility 21 transportation delegation visit. We will join many of our transportation members in speaking with one voice on the needs of the Los Angeles region.

Last week, we were in Sacramento with a broad delegation for ACCESS Sacramento. Delegates joined us for more than 30 advocacy meetings with California state officials to discuss policy priorities for the business community in the Los Angeles region.

PUBLIC POLICY UPDATE
Governor Gavin Newsom released his 2026–27 May Revision budget proposal last week. This proposal includes targeted business tax changes. The Chamber will monitor the proposed budget as the legislature evaluates each element. The Los Angeles City Council voted to delay the implementation of the Living Wage ordinance with the expectation that a final amended ordinance will be presented this week.

The Los Angeles City Council also voted to place the repeal of the City’s Gross Receipts Tax on the November 2026 ballot.

See our Public Policy Update for the latest Policy news.
