The Chamber announced last month that it has expanded trade opportunities for local businesses by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Peruvian American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Peru) to promote trade and investment between the two regions. "In order to lead the way toward recovery, Los Angeles must embrace all international trade opportunities such as this one, which is important to our economy," said L.A. Area Chamber Senior Vice President of Global Initiatives Carlos Valderrama. Government officials from California and Peru were on hand to witness the signing of the MOU, which took place during the "Business Future of the Americas" conference and the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America's mid-year meeting with top government officials and executive leaders from Latin America. Above, Valderrama signs the agreement with AmCham Peru Board Secretary and Member Manuel Barrios. Read more.

Developing a global partnership is not simply about business, Kiely said, but rather it's about human beings building relationships with other human beings. View presentation
