"Home For Good is an ambitious plan, but today's display of consensus and cooperation is clear evidence that our community is ready to do what the Task Force has set out to do: End chronic and veteran homelessness in our region and cut costs while we do it."
— Renee White Fraser, Fraser Communications and Co-Chair of the Business Leaders Task Force on Homelessness, at the Home For Good press conference on Wednesday.

Chamber initiated redistricting commission begins work
The first eight members of the new California Citizen's Redistricting Commission began work in Sacramento this week. They will now choose six additional commissioners from the applicant pool to finalize the 14-person redistricting panel. The L.A. Area Chamber was one of Prop. 11's four original proponents in 2008 which ended the practice of politician-driven gerrymandering. Once all commissioners are appointed, they will begin the actual redistricting process next spring once final U.S. census data is released. The Commission's work will be done with full public transparency and can be monitored via the Internet. Contact Samuel Garrison, 213.580.7568.

HR Tip of the Month
If an employee requests a copy of their personnel records, does the company have to comply with this request?
Employees in California have a right only to copies of documents they have signed. The employer can permit copies of other documents. One exception: employees are entitled to copies of payroll records whether signed or not.
