Port of Los Angeles Sees Cargo Volume Decline in May

The Port of Los Angeles processed 716,619 Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) in May—a 5% decline from the same month last year and the lowest monthly volume in over two years. The dip follows 10 consecutive months of year-over-year growth and is largely attributed to the impact of tariffs on imports and exports. Despite the slowdown, cargo volume for the first five months of 2025 remains 4% ahead of the same period in 2024. Learn more here.
