• Chamber-supported Los Angeles 2020 Commission presents to L.A. City Council
On Friday, the L.A. 2020 Commission presented its findings in its report "A Time For Truth" to the Los Angeles City Council. This report outlines the challenges and opportunities facing the City across many issues. Senate Health Committee chair provides health care reform update
On Friday, the Chamber’s Health Care Council met with State Sen. Ed Hernandez, chair of the Senate Health Committee, to hear his perspectives on the opportunities and challenges California has in health care. Sen. Hernandez outlined the success California has had as a national trailblazer in implementing the Affordable Care Act (ACA). “The success of the ACA will hinge on making sure we get ground zero, L.A. County, signed up,” he said. Sen. Hernandez was a key health care leader and Chamber partner in advocating for Medicaid expansion and the Chamber will continue to work with him to increase access to health care providers through adequate provider reimbursement rates.
