Chamber Hosts Deputy Secretary of Treasury
The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce hosted Wally Adeyemo, Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, and small business leaders for a roundtable discussion on the Inflation Reduction Act. Regional business owners attended the event to discuss how to scale equity to unlock the full potential of the economy, the transition to green energy, how to develop and keep the next generation of workforce talent in the region, as well as how the future is here in L.A. |

Metro Board to Utilize Property for Temporary and Permanent Housing
The Los Angeles Metro Board has unanimously approved a motion to repurpose Metro-owned properties for temporary and permanent housing. The motion was introduced by Board members Mayor Karen Bass, Metro Board Chair Ara Najarian, Los Angeles County Supervisors Janice Hahn, Holly Mitchell, and Hilda Solis, and Los Angeles City Council President Paul Krekorian. For Mayor Bass, the measure is another step in her efforts to address the homelessness crisis in Los Angeles. |

Health Net Brings No-Cost Mental Telehealth Services to L.A. Schoolchildren
The Los Angeles County Office of Education and the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health will provide more than 1.3 million students with access to no-cost mental telehealth services. Health Net and L.A. Care Health Plan have partnered to allocate up to $24 million over two years to cover the costs of using these innovative services through Hazel Health. The Los Angeles Unified School District previously decided to implement the services. |

L.A. County to End COVID-19 State of Emergency
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a motion to end COVID-19 emergency declarations on March 31 in the wake of L.A. and California ending their emergency orders. Supervisor Janice Hahn's motion was approved on Tuesday. However, Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer says it does not mean that all infection control measures will immediately disappear. |

Homelessness Task Force and Chamber Meet with Chief of Housing
The Ad Hoc on Homelessness Committee, under the Land Use, Housing and Construction Policy Council, hosted a special briefing with Mercedes Márquez, L.A. City Chief of Housing and Homelessness Solutions, this week. L.A. County Board of Supervisors Independent Review of Governance Structure
On Tuesday, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a motion by Supervisors Holly J. Mitchell and Lindsey P. Horvath, calling for an independent review of the county's governance structure. The review will focus on recommendations to increase public participation and transparency in the policymaking process, including the possibility of expanding the board.
