LA28 Ticket Draw Registration Opens
Registration is now open for the LA28 Ticket Draw, giving fans the chance to purchase tickets to all Olympic sports. Fans can register through March 18 for a randomly assigned time slot to buy tickets during upcoming sales, with prices starting at $28. Time slots for the first ticket drop will run from April 9–19, 2026, and tickets to the Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be available. Register here.

Get in the Game: NBA All-Star B2B Business Connect
The Chamber is pleased to be collaborating with the NBA on small business opportunities with the upcoming All-Star Game. The NBA is helping small businesses “Get in the Game” by sharing resources and opportunities for suppliers interested in NBA All-Star activities. The NBA All-Star Tip Off Webinar (passcode: 7@^?bfrF) provides an overview of working with the NBA, including commonly sourced categories and key processes and plans for this year. On Thursday, February 12, the NBA will host an in-person supplier event for B2B businesses to connect with NBA staff and peers, including matchmaking opportunities with local corporations. Chamber Urges Senate to Renew ACA Subsidies
In response to Congress allowing ACA subsidies to expire, the Chamber sent a letter urging Senate leadership to renew these vital subsidies and ensure continued access to healthcare. The Chamber strongly supports renewal, recognizing the economic benefits that healthcare access provides to the regional economy and beyond. The matter is currently under consideration in the Senate, where lead negotiator Sen. Bernie Moreno recently indicated that draft compromise language is expected in late January. The Chamber will continue to monitor developments and advocate for this critical issue.

Long Beach State of the Port Highlights Record Cargo and Future Growth
The L.A. Area Chamber attended the annual Long Beach State of the Port event, where newly appointed CEO Noel Hacegaba announced a record-setting year in 2025, with nearly 9.9 million cargo containers moving through the port without backlogs or delays. Hacegaba, a longtime friend of the Chamber, also outlined an ambitious vision for the future, highlighting plans to invest $3.2 billion over the next decade to modernize aging terminals, expand rail yard capacity, and build new wharves, critical improvements aimed at doubling annual cargo volume to 20 million containers by 2050.

Chamber Signs LAUSD-Led Letter Urging Congress to Protect Federal Education Programs
This week, the Chamber joined a coalition letter led by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) urging Congress to protect federal education funding. The letter calls for full-year 2026 funding at the Senate-proposed levels and opposes the House proposal to cut education funding by 15 percent. It also urges Congress to stop unauthorized transfers of programs from the U.S. Department of Education to other federal agencies and to increase investments in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and key Title programs.

Governor Newsom Announces $2.8M Investment in Construction Workforce Training
This week, Governor Gavin Newsom announced a $2.8 million public-private investment through the LA Rise initiative, the Walter Family Foundation, and state workforce recovery funding for a new construction workforce training program. The announcement took place at the groundbreaking of Pasadena City College’s new Construction Trades Lab. The program will train construction workers to support rebuilding and recovery in the Los Angeles region while creating pathways into sustainable careers.

Area Chamber met with a delegation of leaders hosted by the Shenzhen Association for Promoting High-tech Enterprises Collaborative Innovation, an organization that promotes technological advancement in the city of Shenzhen, China's "Silicon Valley." President & CEO Maria S. Salinas, Chief Operating Officer & CFO Martin K. Breidsprecher, and the delegation explored opportunities for the Chamber and Shenzhen to partner on cross-border tech exchange during this period of rapid global innovation.
