Chamber Responds to Tourism Wage Referendum Outcome

The Chamber is disappointed with the outcome of the signature verification process for the proposed referendum on the City’s tourism wage increase. We remain concerned about a wage policy that could have a negative impact on businesses and communities, and we strongly object to the process that led to its approval. As an organization committed to policies that drive job creation and promote affordability, the Chamber continues to support efforts to repeal the gross receipts tax. We will provide updates to our members as developments on this front progress.

Tariff Ruling Could Reshape Trade Policy and Business Landscape in Southern California

A pending Supreme Court decision on the legality of President Trump’s reciprocal tariffs could have a major impact on Southern California businesses. With lower courts ruling the levies illegal, the government may be required to refund up to $1 trillion to affected companies. For businesses in the Los Angeles region, this could mean a substantial influx of capital, providing a powerful economic stimulus and strengthening supply chains and bottom lines. The ruling will also shape future trade policy and the regional economic landscape for years to come. Learn more here.
