POLICY & ADVOCACY

Wireless Facilities Ordinance Approved

The Wireless Facilities Ordinance passed with a 4-1 vote at the L.A. County Board of Supervisors meeting this week. The ordinance supports the goals, policies and principles of the L.A. County General Plan. It establishes land use regulations and development standards for the placement of small cell and macro facilities which are consistent with federal, state and case law. The approved ordinance is also consistent with the FCCs established parameters for how local jurisdictions can regulate wireless facilities.

The Chamber supports smart broadband adoption and access policies which increase digital literacy among students, employees and businesses. Readily available broadband access for county consumers, students and workers will enhance access to online information, educational opportunities and web-enabled information systems. In turn, this will drive economic vitality for the county’s communities.
