Changes coming to how L.A. County votes
New vote-by-mail ballots for November 2018
Your input needed for 2020 elections
Beginning with the March 2020 primary, L.A. County will transition from traditional polling places to voting centers. This new model will allow voters to cast a ballot at any vote center location in the County over an 11-day period. The Vote Center Placement Project's (VCPP) core mission is to identify and place accessible and convenient vote center locations throughout Los Angeles County. The Registrar Recorder's office is looking for community input on where to place these centers. SEE HERE for more information and to submit your feedback. If you would like a presentation for your company or organization on these upcoming changes, please contact Jessica Duboff.
Late last Friday night, the California State Legislature completed their work for the year. In total, the Chamber tracked and weighed in on more than 80 bills in 2018. Nearly a dozen of our priority bills made it to the governor's desk. We also helped stop a number of Chamber-opposed bills in the legislature, including the last minute SB 120, which would have added regulatory hurdles onto a project that had already completed CEQA, creating uncertainty for future infrastructure projects. See our full recap HERE, as well as our June status updated HERE.
