California Senate Race Results
Democratic Representative Adam Schiff and Republican Steve Garvey will advance to the November runoff election for the seat formerly occupied by the late Senator Dianne Feinstein. In L.A. County, Schiff garnered nearly 38 percent of the vote; and Garvey garnered 26 percent. The top two candidates, regardless of party, proceed to the general election in November.

Primary Election Turnout Reaches 20%
As of this morning, 1,104,935 Los Angeles County residents cast a ballot on Election Day, which is nearly 20% of all registered voters. As of March 7, approximately 355,500 ballots still need to be processed. See below for a breakdown of estimates:
- Vote by Mail ballots (VBM): 345,000
- Conditional Voter Registration ballots: 10,000
- Provisional ballots: 500

Los Angeles District Attorney Run Off
In the Los Angeles County District Attorney race, George Gascón was leading as of this morning in his bid for reelection with 227,329 votes (22.89%). Nathan Hochman is currently in second place with 172,393 votes (17.36%). The candidate in third place, Deputy District Attorney Jonathan Hatami, conceded Thursday as ballots are still being counted. The two top candidates will go into a run off in November.

California's Mental Health Proposition 1 Results
The results for Proposition 1 still remain too close to call as ballot-counting continues from Tuesday's election. As of this morning, "Yes" is leading by 30,101 votes with 57.4 percent of votes counted. The statewide ballot measure would overhaul California's mental health care system, primarily through the issuance of nearly $6.4 billion in bonds.

LAPD Interim Chief Dominic Choi Sworn In
Last Friday, Mayor Karen Bass officially swore in Dominic Choi as the Interim Chief of Police for the Los Angeles Police Department. Interim Chief Choi's primary responsibility will be to maintain departmental stability and bolster the LAPD's recruitment levels while the Mayor continues the search for a new Chief of Police. Last month the Chamber met with Mayor Bass to share a crucial business perspective on the search for a new, permanent Chief of Police and how the department's new leader must prepare the City of Los Angeles for major world events, such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympics and Para-Olympics.
