Chamber Backs New Filming Framework to Boost Jobs and Competitiveness

On Wednesday, the Chamber provided public comment at City Council in support of motions creating a Citywide Filming Conditions Framework. The Chamber noted that modernized soundstage approvals and free micro-shoot permits will support small- and mid-sized productions, while a City Film Liaison will improve cross-department coordination. With the industry supporting over 700,000 jobs and generating nearly $70 billion in wages statewide, the Chamber urged City Council to boost global competitiveness, attract tourism, and drive job growth across Los Angeles.

Chamber Submits Letter Opposing Office of Wage Standards (OWS) Enforcement Expansion

This week, the Chamber submitted a letter to the Personnel & Hiring Committee outlining concerns about the proposed OWS expansion. Shifting enforcement to community-based organizations could compromise worker privacy, increase legal liability, and cost an estimated $2.8 million.
