Compact applauded the Los Angeles Unified School District and its leadership for continuing to improve on the state's Academic Performance Index (API). The district's API jumped 16 points in 2012, outpacing the state average. "It's commendable that our district as a whole is closing in on the state API target of 800 points amid budget cuts, layoffs, larger class sizes and a shortened school year," said L.A. Area Chamber Senior Vice President David Rattray. Contact David Rattray, 213.580.7515.
