Plug & Play in Downtown L.A.

Chamber President and CEO Maria S. Salinas joined partners and leaders for an exclusive roundtable discussion on how the L.A. Area Chamber is working with Plug and Play, Alliance for SoCal Innovation, and Downtown Center Business Improvement District to turn Downtown L.A. into the next urban innovation hub. The event featured a keynote from Ryan Kelly of Hyperloop and Brent Bushnell of Two Bit Circus, along with panelists including Chamber President & CEO Maria S. Salinas, Chamber Board members, Lew Horne from CBRE, and Martha Saucedo from AEG. The alliance puts a spotlight on the importance of building the start-up ecosystem in Los Angeles, specifically Downtown L.A. L.A. County Recommends Indoor Masks

The County of Los Angeles provided new precautionary recommendations for masking indoors due to rising cases of the highly transmissible Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus. The CDC noted that Delta variants are now responsible for about 1/5 of new infections across the country. Read more here.

A Look at June's Pancakes & Politics

We were pleased to continue our Accenture Pancakes & Politics policy speaker series with insight from Los Angeles County Health Officer Dr. Muntu Davis, L.A. Area Chamber President & CEO, Maria S. Salinas, Augie Haydel, who Chairs the Chamber's Healthcare Policy Council, and Eyal Darmon, who leads Accenture's public health response to COVID.
