South L.A. Scholars eyes the future of the health care workforce
The Chamber formally recognized participating members of the South L.A. Scholars program at a partnership thank you breakfast last week. The Chamber, in collaboration with L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti, City of Los Angeles Economic & Workforce Development Department, Los Angeles Unified School District, Unite-LA and Los Angeles Trade Technical College have partnered to provide paid work experiences for South L.A. students enrolled in health career themed high schools. World Bank's new approach to Global Value Chains
Members of the Global Initiatives Council heard from Daria Taglioni, lead trade economist of the World Bank, via video conference this week, as she provided an update on the economic impact of global value chains. Brian Peck, co-chair for Policy of the Global Initiatives Council and director of Transnational Law & Business Center at USC Gould School of Law, also provided a brief policy recap.
