
L.A. AREA CHAMBER RECEIVES FIVE-STAR ACCREDITATION HONOR FROM U.S. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce has been awarded a five-star accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the highest level of accreditation available. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s accreditation program is the only one of its kind which defines excellence in chamber performance and planning. There are roughly 7,000 chambers of commerce throughout the country, but only 201 chambers nationwide and seven in California carry this prestigious honor.
- The Chamber has established itself as an effective advocate for the Los Angeles area business community. It has developed an excellent Policy Priority Development process and good working relationships with elected officials through its Access DC initiative and is being recognized for its Pancakes & Politics breakfast speaker series and Mayoral Forums, as well as its contributions to the California Statewide Business Leaders organization, Mobility 21 initiative, and California Forward coalition. The L.A. Area Chamber is also being recognized for its effective Get-Out-To-Vote Programs, and Election Updates publication, along with the work of the L.A. Jobs Issues PAC.
- The Chamber’s leadership is recognized for the implementation of its Balance to California initiative, for the creation of its CEO Council, and the work of its Ad-hoc Governance Committee. The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce was commended for its leadership role as it helped members and the greater business community navigate the COVID-19 pandemic through its efforts to serve as the trusted source in the region for dissemination of information pertinent to workforce, PPE and safety guidelines, and the promotion of Lovla.org. The chamber is also noted for its Global Initiatives Council, Inaugural Dinner, annual World Trade Week programming, and for its Small Business Summit.
- The Chamber has made many investments in technologies to improve staff efficiency, implement proper controls, and deliver value to members and achieved a perfect score in the Technology and Facilities.
