Wendy Greuel for Mayor

Wendy Greuel for Mayor

Every major Los Angeles business organization and an army of business leaders, from Fortune 500 CEOs to owners of your neighborhood mom and pop shop, have chosen to support Wendy Greuel for Mayor. Contrary to what you have probably heard during this campaign, our City Controller is not a lackey of labor, but an independent voice whose integrity and honest approach to the challenges we face in L.A. have won her the loyalty and trust of leaders across the spectrum. She has earned the support of business, labor, neighborhoods and every other group of stakeholders that represent the quilt that is our city. The fact that all of these disparate groups with sometimes competing agendas trust Wendy Greuel is the very reason she will be an independent and honest broker who can lead us all to do what is right for our city.

Her opponent has claimed, time and again, that she will not be an independent voice because the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, Valley Industry and Commerce Association, Central City Association and so many others have endorsed her for mayor. He fought tooth and nail to gain the same endorsements. Had he been successful in gaining them, we suggest that he would not have considered himself any less independent.

We support Wendy Greuel because she is the only candidate in this race who has signed the front of a paycheck and not just the back. She has created private sector jobs with her family-owned business in the Valley and as a leader in building DreamWorks Entertainment. In the public sector, her hands-on management experience includes working with Mayor Tom Bradley to create L.A.’s Best.

As President Bill Clinton’s on site manager in L.A., she brought the full weight of the federal government to bear in a quick and efficient response to the needs of L.A. in the wake of the Northridge Earthquake. As City Controller, she was the taxpayers’ watchdog and spoke truth to power again and again; to labor interests, businesses interests and City Hall power brokers. Her predecessors Laura Chick and Rick Tuttle strongly support her record as City Controller and her run for Mayor.

We support Wendy Greuel because her goal is to fix the broken system at City Hall, instead of perpetuating it. She is a product of the L.A. public schools and UCLA and has the real world experience of making a family business grow. She walked away from a successful career in the private sector to be a change agent in the public sector and build a better L.A. for her son and all our children.

We support Wendy Greuel. She is the Mayor that all of Los Angeles needs.

I disagree with all but two of your endorsements. I am not sure just how the membership's view are reflected in the Chamber's endorsement.

Wendy Gruel has taken a "wait and see" attitude about moving the LAX North runway -- Eric Garcetti is against it. Vote for Garcetti.

We support Wendy Gruel and wish we could vote in this election. JCL Barricade Company has had its primary location in the City of Los Angeles for 14 years and we have owned commercial property for use by our business since 10 of those years. But we can't vote for or against anything that effects our business. I would like to see commercial property owners having a say in our future and the future of Los Angeles. I think we all could be an additional asset to the city besides paying taxes.
