Partnering for Success

The strength of the L.A. Area Chamber, much like the region as a whole, resides in the collective power of our membership and the business community. This organization realizes that if we truly want to succeed at moving business and the region forward, we can’t do it alone. Our tradition of convening area leaders, partnering with community organizations, collaborating with other business groups, engaging stakeholders and forming coalitions is at the heart of our success.

As we embark on a bold plan to create the Chamber of the future and amplify our collective voice, we will reach out, step up and engage with our partners now more than ever. In my first month, I have met with business leaders, elected officials, and several Chamber partners. I’m excited about the enthusiasm at every encounter and the collaborative interest to work with the Chamber for the benefit of our region.

I recently attended my first board meeting with Mobility21, a coalition of public and business stakeholders to pursue regional solutions to transportation challenges, an example of how the Chamber’s voice is bolder when we come together. With the Los Angeles Community Colleges, we regularly collaborate to address skills gaps, improve completion rates, and advocate for greater funding, demonstrating how we are stronger with partners.

I look forward to attending my first Regional Economic Association Leader (R.E.A.L.) Coalition meeting in the coming weeks. An organization of the State’s 18 most prominent business groups, the Coalition seeks to collaborate on statewide initiatives for economic competitiveness, education and workforce, transportation infrastructure and water.

Whether we’re engaging with Mobility21, the community colleges, the R.E.A.L. Coalition or any of the many stakeholder groups, this Chamber’s highly-valued coalitions, alliances, collaborations and partnerships are driving this region forward and building a better L.A. at a faster rate than we’d ever achieve alone.

The Chamber’s best work is achieved when we come together with partners from across the region. We know … we do our best work when we do it with you.

The LA Chamber continues to lead the way for Angelenos and the commitment and enthusiasm required is enormous. California looks to Los Angeles for direction on so many topics and policies to get it right for all industries. Working together is the answer.
