Bringing credential transparency to the marketplace

by Center for Education Excellence & Talent Development
The Chamber partnered with Credential Engine to kick off a regional effort to bring credential transparency and literacy to the L.A. marketplace so that prospective students, employers and others can easily access information about all available credentials in the region. There are nearly 750,000 credentials in the U.S. alone (including diplomas, badges, certificates, apprenticeships, micro-credentials, certifications, licenses and degrees) and currently no central repository in which students and employers can discover and compare credentials and training programs that best meet their needs. The Chamber convened nearly 60 L.A. employers, education partners, workforce agencies and nonprofits to learn about and provide feedback on these efforts.
