Chamber kicks off a month of world trade in Southern California

On May 2, the Chamber hosted its 93rd annual World Trade Week (WTW) Kickoff Breakfast at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown Hotel. With more than 800 business leaders and members of the diplomatic corps in attendance, the event kicked off the largest WTW celebration of its kind in the country.
The morning’s program featured a keynote address by Dr. Udo Lange, COO, FedEx Logistics, Inc., and a panel discussion on changes and trends in global trade. Panelists included Cindy Allen, VP, Regulatory Affairs and Compliance, FedEx Logistics; Alan McCorkle, SVP, West Coast Operations, NYK Ports; Dr. Chris Thornberg, President & Founder, Beacon Economics; and moderator Dr. Jonathan Woetzel, Director, McKinsey Global Institute.
Dr. Jerrold D. Green, President and Chief Executive Officer, Pacific Council of International Policy in Los Angeles, was awarded the Stanley T. Olafson Bronze Plaque Award for his outstanding contributions to the world trade community in Southern California. READ the full press release.
