On Monday, May 13, the Chamber’s L.A. Health Care Talent Pipeline program hosted a job search, resume writing and interview prep workshop for 29 Los Angeles City College students preparing to become registered nurses (RN). Despite the high demand for RNs in the region, students shared that they still face challenges when navigating the post-graduation job search process due to lack of information about what employers look for and how they assess candidates. The workshop was based on the Chamber’s industry-validated competency model for RNs and more than 11 years of experience working with regional health care employers to develop a local, diverse and skilled workforce pipeline.
