On June 19, the Chamber hosted its annual BIZCON SoCal business conference and networking event designed to celebrate, inspire and support businesses across the L.A. region. The full-day conference, held at the Sheraton Universal Hotel, included a keynote address from Shawn Gold, TechStyle Fashion Group, and a reception with Isabel Guzman, Office of the Small Business Advocate. The event featured an expert slate of speakers and took a deep dive into a wide range of topics focused on innovation and entrepreneurship, including "Navigating the Legislative Landscape for Your Business," "Building Your Brand: What's In Your Toolkit?" and "Attracting and Retaining Talent Through Employee-Centered Strategies." Bixel Exchange's Startup LAunch Tech SBDC also hosted BiXelerate Your Business sponsored by Bank of the West, where more than 30 advisors met with small business owners to provide one-on-one guidance.
"Events like this ... [are] where the rubber hits the road. This is where you build relationships, this is where it all starts, and this is where it begins to take that idea and your business to the next level," said Corneil Montgomery, vice president and senior corporate social responsibility chair, Bank of the West.
Additionally, AT&T was honored with the Excellence in Work-Life Harmony Award for their exemplary work-life harmony policies and practices for employees and their families.
