The Chamber’s Energy, Water & Environmental Sustainability Council welcomed South Coast Air Quality Management District’s newest Governing Board Member, Vanessa Delgado, during its August meeting. Delgado was sworn into the Governing Board in May 2019, after serving as a state senator and mayor of the City of Montebello. In Delgado’s role as Governing Board Member, she will help adopt policies and regulations to promote clean air in the region. During her conversation with members, Delgado outlined her top priorities, which include: funding to provide incentives to transition trucking fleets to cleaner technology, ensuring South Coast AQMD can reach its federal air quality attainment requirements, developing the necessary fueling infrastructure to increase consumer choice in light-duty passenger vehicles and successful implementation of AB 617. The Council also heard a Sacramento legislative update. SEE THE PHOTOS.
