The Resilience Advantage

During the last year, as we faced the challenges of the pandemic, we’ve learned much about our communities, our economies, and the inequities in our institutions. Angelenos have always known the dangers of events which are out of our control, from wildfires to earthquakes and everything in between. As we plan to emerge from the pandemic, the resiliency of Angelenos is evident.
We know that if we are to thrive, we must prepare for the next disaster. Disaster preparedness is not just the key to safety in our region, it’s the key to economic resiliency. This is why, over the past year, the Chamber has focused on being flexible and adaptable while reflecting on how to be ready for the next inevitable emergency.

Business resiliency has been evident throughout the pandemic. Businesses have re-imagined their systems and processes to re-emerge stronger. But, there is still much learning to do. This is why the Chamber is proud to host “The Resilience Advantage,” a webinar series featuring leading experts in architecture, business, structural engineering, seismology, finance, and more to discuss how businesses and community leaders can prepare for a specific kind of natural disaster that is uniquely Los Angeles: an earthquake.

Because of COVID, the importance of preparing for natural disasters was made abundantly clear, and businesses in Los Angeles can be especially vulnerable without the proper preparation. “The Resilience Advantage” webinar series is a crucial tool which will allow us to effectively prepare the region for an earthquake, and safeguard our communities.
