The Legacy of Dianne Feinstein

We are saddened by the passing of Senator Dianne Feinstein. She was a fierce advocate for all Californians and a trailblazer within our state and the Washington, D.C. political establishment. She will be remembered as a person with exceptional integrity and grit, who fearlessness took on tough issues.

Senator Feinstein was a pragmatic leader who led with compassion. She was the first woman to represent California in the U.S. Senate and was an inspiring national figure for many people across the country. California, future generations and the nation will reap the benefits of Senator Feinstein’s lifetime of public service and the legislation she championed.

I first met Senator Feinstein in her run for Senate. I recall how she stood tall, confident, and determined in why she was seeking elected office. There was no doubt, that if anyone could handle stepping into the U.S. Senate, it would be Dianne Feinstein. She demonstrated the intellect, commitment, and dedication which elevated her from just an impactful public servant into a national icon.

In Washington, D.C., she was always there to welcome the L.A. Area Chamber for our annual ACCESS D.C. delegation trip. In my first ACCESS D.C. as President and CEO of the Chamber, Senator Feinstein welcomed me into the role and to Washington, D.C. I recall her firm handshake and warmth in her words as she commented on the important role of the private sector to the success and vitality of the Golden State.
