Whats New At BOE? 2017 Reforms and Cannabis
Join us for our September Accenture Pancakes & Politics Speaker Series to hear from California's State Board of Equalization member Fiona Ma. As the District 2 representative, which includes much of northern Los Angeles County, Ma represents more than 9 million Californians on the Board. Last year, the Taxpayer Transparency and Fairness Act of 2017 restructured the BOE and separated its functions among three separate entities. Hear from Ma on how the Board has changed since her election in 2015 and what tax oversight remains under its purview. As only the second Certified Public Accountant elected to the Board, Ma has worked to protect the rights of taxpayers while also ensuring that California collects its fair share of tax revenues. She has also prioritized clearing the haze around cannabis by exploring a regulatory framework for banking the newly legal industry.
Friday, Sept. 28 7:45 - 9 a.m. Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce 350 S. Bixel St., Los Angeles 90017
