Verizon's Response to COVID-19

L.A. Business This Week 5/15/20

Verizon is responding swiftly to the expanding connectivity demands due to “Stay at Home” orders. Our customers - whether they’re first responders, teachers, students, families, hospitals, government agencies or society at-large - rely on us to keep them connected. To help small businesses who are the lifeblood of our society, we’ve launched Pay it Forward Live, a weekly streaming entertainment series on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 8 p.m. EST in support of small businesses affected by COVID-19.  Additionally, Verizon has donated an additional $2.5 million to Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), a national nonprofit that invests in economic opportunity for people and communities across America.  LISC-Los Angeles has been a leader in connecting area businesses with these grants.

Partnering with California Governor Gavin Newsom, Verizon committed unlimited internet connectivity to the state at a discounted rate for up to 250,000 underserved students to help bridge the digital divide.

Verizon has also recently extended its commitment to keep consumers and small business customers connected through June 30. This means we will neither terminate service nor charge late fees to our postpaid wireless, residential, and small business customers that notify us of their inability to pay their bills due to disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic.  For more information on Verizon’s response to COVID-19 go to https://www.verizon.com/about/news/our-response-coronavirus
