California Companies Partner with Alibaba to reach China Markets

Beyond Meat's flagship product, the Beyond Burger, is now available in Alibaba's Freshippo supermarkets across China.
Since opening its first store in 2016, Alibaba's Freshippo has expanded to 207 stores across 20 cities in China. Freshippo offers what Alibaba has coined a “new retail” experience, which seamlessly integrates online and offline grocery shopping. Approximately 40% of Freshippo’s products are imported into China from countries around the world, including many from the U.S. For some additional context, here is a brief video of how Freshippo works.
The meat substitute market in China is expected to grow to $12 billion by 2023. We are thrilled to team up with Beyond Meat to help them capitalize on this opportunity and introduce their hallmark Beyond Burger to the Chinese consumer.
