Message from Ken Wengrod, Vice President, Global Trade and Foreign Investment

I am very excited to join the L.A. Area Chamber team and lead its Global Trade and Foreign Investment initiative. My goal is to embrace and unite public and private organizations to promote global trade and foreign investments in our region through our various business councils and diplomatic corps group. Global trade is the backbone of our economy. My hope is to help guide small and medium enterprises (SMEs) into becoming significant forces in global trade. According to the Department of Commerce, 95% of our customers are outside our borders. The ability of SMEs to access capital to expand global trade is the catalyst for growth.

It is essential to help companies recognize cultural differences and the nuances in formulating authentic business relationships, the benefits and ease of global trade, proper networking channels, and basic understanding of lender requirements. These are just some ways we can break down barriers and level the playing field so individuals can connect and achieve equitable global success.

I am looking forward to meeting all our partners and Global members in the near future.

Ken Wengrod
